Cyn - Chapter 1
“Beth Anne had her luncheon today. I couldn’t handle two hours of her, ‘I’m the center of the universe’ luncheon.” She looked at him and saw confusion in his eyes. Obviously uncomfortable, he held a thick manila folder with fidgeting hands. The look on his face showed frustration and something uncomfortable like panic. “What’s going on? I expected you to be on your way to Paris by now,” she said, forgetting all about the luncheon. He let out a long involuntary sigh. This was not how he’d intended to deliver the news. She wasn’t making it easier, in her little tennis dress, another new one no doubt. He’d been caught only a few minutes before he was about to disappear from her life for good. It was almost a clean getaway, but now Dallas would have to make the break while looking into her tearful eyes. He looked at the folder, the vehicle intended to deliver the shocking news. He thought about simply handing it to her, saying, ‘Here, read this,’ and walk away but her presence demanded an answer. Dallas had been planning this for almost a year, but his resolve weakened at the sight of his wife’s broken face. He determined not to look at her again, maybe that would be easier. The desperation in her voice almost caused him to stop, but he set his resolve and kept moving toward the door. All he had to do now was get to the car. There could be no turning back; regardless of the pain, he had to keep going. He’d made this choice a long time ago. Dallas eagerly grabbed the door handle and swung one of the large double doors open. A small man in a neatly pressed black suit stood at attention. “It’s all in the folder,” he spoke in stride, gaining confidence. He hopped quickly into the limo, the door slammed, the driver scurried to the wheel and the large car backed into the street, then disappeared down the incline. Skirting houses perched along the...

well i was thinking of buying a Volkswagen bus type 2 like from the 1970's i am 18 and i was?
wondering if thats a good choice? is it hard to gets parts if it breaks down or to maintain? please help!!
Buy it, you'll love it! Parts are easy to find, inexpensive and most of all, you will have to be your own mechanic. Keep in mind though this is a 38 year old vehicle, so with that being said you should carry some spare parts with you at all times. I have a 64 bug and carry with me a toolbox full of metric wrenches and sockets, also a spare fuel pump, dist., valve cover gaskets, oil change gaskets, and a jacket just in case I still cant fix it (lol). Seriously though, I also carry a quart of oil, jumper cables, points, condenser, and feeler gauges .006", .016", and .028" (for all you VW owners, you know those numbers by heart!)
One more thing to remember is these vehicles require double the maintenance than newer cars, but will cost less. For example, my brakes one time cost me 500.00 to replace all 4 with parts and labor. My wife drives a 99 jetta, and it cost us 1000 to replace her brakes.

Chagin sets stage record, Sainz set on Dakar victory
There were no such worries for Carlos Sainz, the Car leader earned his first stage win of the year and stretched his lead over Volkswagen teammate Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah in the process. The Qatari could only manage fourth and is back to being ten minutes behind the former World Rally Champion. American Mark Miller placed third and looks solid to help Volkswagen earn an all podium finish. Tomorrow the race will be on between Sainz and Al-Attiyah with the start of the final four days.
The gap might have grown even more between the two if the narrow route hadn't kept Sainz from seeking a way past his teammate, "80 kilometres after the start we caught up with Nasser. We stayed behind him because he couldn't hear the Sentinel and we couldn't get past. It was quite a slow and winding route, mostly lanes. What I did first was to get close to Nasser, then I stayed around at 1'40. After that, from the 80-km point onwards, we were driving in the dust."
From Al-Attiyah's perspective, being first on the road on such a technical stage was quite a nerve-wracking challenge, "It was very dangerous at that speed. There were a lot of corners, a lot of slippery stuff. For me it was not a good feeling and I'm really happy to have finished this stage without any problems," explained the Qatari. "But it's okay, I'm quite happy with today. It's normal when you start as first car to lose a lot of time. Tomorrow there will be some off-road and more dunes. It will be good for me."
