At the World Environmental Leadership Conference presented by Newsweek, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made an address and delivered very strong words to U.S. automakers. The Governor wanted the car manufacturers to make changes to reduce harmful greenhouse gases in the exhaust gases emitted from vehicle models. He also commented on the plate in Detroit, who criticized the awarding of standards for vehicle exhaust emissions in California, for car manufacturers, especially Michigan-based automakers are unwilling to respond. Here is a portion of his speech, Schwarzenegger. ”I say a little surprised to be here, and the reason is that three and a half years ago when I ran for governor I was then about environmental protesters with signs. I do not like Humvees and Hummers, SUV and me or something I did. In fact, when I promised to improve the environment when I became Governor, I do not believe it. So here we are, three years and six months later, and I’m on the cover of Newsweek as one of the big environmentalists. Only America, is this is all I can say. But let me tell you one thing, although I like being on the cover of Newsweek, but should have some other people to meet, as well, and it is these people who were my colleagues in the legislature. They have worked very hard, it was incredible partner and I are talking about here, first and foremost, President of the Assembly Fabian Núñez and Senator Perata. I invited both to come here, but could not do it, but I just wanted to thank them publicly for being so great as environmentalists and big leader on the environment.
