"American Idol" kicked off its ninth season — Simon Cowell ’s last — in Boston with mobs of good, bad and flat-out bizarre singers trying to score a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Simon, Randy Jackson , Kara DioGuardi and special celeb judge Victoria Beckham critiqued the fresh crop of crooners, some who sang off-key and some who were just "off"!

Oddball entrants included a self-styled "anime-freak" who maimed a Janis Joplin classic; a livewire teen who mistakenly thought he could sing and dance to Britney Spears ‘ "Womanizer"; and one man whose bad attitude inspired Kara to repeatedly roar, You need a spanking!

Grammy-nominated rockers Bon Jovi will be performing on Music’s Biggest Night, and now you can help choose what song they’ll perform live!

For the first time ever, the Jersey band will participate in the interactive Grammy performance in which fans will have an opportunity to decide which hit the band will perform during their segment on the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, airing live on CBS Sunday, Jan. 31 in Los Angeles.

Viewers can log on to www.cbs.com/grammys and vote for one out of six hit Bon Jovi songs: "Always," "Bed Of Roses," "Have A Nice Day," "It’s My Life," "Livin’ On A Prayer" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive." More voting details can be found on the site.
